Garden Patch Quilt - The early colonists brought the principles of quilting with them from England. Because fabric was so scarce, women began “piecing” their quilt tops with leftover pieces of fabric. By the early 1800’s these had evolved into the “block” form, that is so beautifully done in the garden Patch quilt. We have selected warm, rustic shades of red, green and gold prints and solids. Beautiful in its simplicity, this design is finished with large prairie points, in fabrics from quilt, and hand attached binding. Diagonal rows of hand quilting generously cover each piece.
