Colonial Patch Quilt - The early colonists brought the principles of quilting with them from England. Because fabric was scarce, women began piecing their quilt tops with leftover pieces of fabric. By the early 1800's these had evolved into the "block" form that is so beautifully done in the Colonial Patch quilt. We have selected the bold red, blue and gold prints so familiar to the Colonial days of New England. Beautiful in its simplicity, this quilt is finished with large prairie points in fabrics from the quilt. Diagonal rows of hand quilting generously cover each piece. The reverse is done in a faded dark blue print with tiny red stars. 100% Cotton Shell. 100% Cotton Fill. Machine Washable. This pattern is generously sized for additional luxury.
